Rougham Control Tower Museum
360° Virtual Tours for Museums and Heritage sites
Our 360° Virtual Tour of Rougham Control Tower takes you through this small friendly museum dedicated to the American Airforce personnel that served here during World War Two. A Google Virtual Tour was created alongside some traditional stills photography to help promote the museum and extend its reach to local visitors.
The base was abandoned in 1948 and the land on which it is built was returned to agricultural use. The tower itself was used as a home until 1988 when it was once more abandoned. In 1992 the Rougham Tower association was formed with the intention of restoring the tower. The Tower and Nissen huts are now filled with interesting artefacts and the former Radar building is now in use as a tea room.
This museum is a little known gem in Suffolk and we thoroughly recommend a visit. The museum is manned by volunteers and opens every Sunday from Easter to October in normal circumstances. find out more on the website for Rougham Control Tower Museum.
